The Press Association and Sorted Magazine have heaped praise on the prequel to the Selah trilogy. Its safe to say that critics weren’t expecting the prequel to be anything like The Beautiful Fall. Based in York, the story follows Tim, a university graduate, who intervenes in a stranger’s suicide attempt off the city minster. The short story is written at a typically lightning pace and offers the reader a totally unorthodox way into the fantasy trilogy Selah.
“Fast paced, gripping and totally unputdownable”
“Diametrically opposed to Selah, The Beautiful Fall is set very much in the real world. However, if Tim’s journey from York to the Cook Islands is unusual, the reappearance of Reuben is surreal. Reuben’s prophecy about Tim’s son leaves the reader desperate for the next installment.”
